Jaime Hill, RN: Different Types of Injectables in Plastic Surgery

In today’s world, the need for aesthetic improvements and quality of life enhancements is evident. People often want to achieve their desired aesthetics without going under the knife. In this article, we explore the exciting world of injectables in plastic surgery with Jaime Hill from Politis Plastic Surgery, Tampa, FL. Hear her insights on fillers, biostimulators, and toxin injections to help you make an informed decision about the right treatment for you.

The Rise of Injectables

Jaime Hill explains the growing popularity of injectables: “Patients that want to improve their aesthetics but maybe don’t want to go under anesthesia for it. We can do different types of injectables right here in the office.” Injectables offer a minimally invasive alternative to traditional surgery, with shorter appointment times and less downtime. “You’re here for maybe 20-30 minutes,” states Hill, highlighting the convenience of these treatments.

Fillers: Light and Shadows

Fillers can be used to create subtle changes in the face, and according to Hill, “It’s all about light and shadows with the face.” Fillers can be used to perform a liquid rhinoplasty, which involves making modifications to the nose without going under the knife. But fillers don’t stop there; they can also be used to build up jawlines or cheekbones for a more youthful appearance.

As we age, both men and women tend to experience facial changes that can cause a hollowing effect. Fillers can be used to rejuvenate the face, restoring a youthful glow. Hill explains, “As women and men, as we age, we hollow out so we lose some of that youthfulness, so those are good ways to give some rejuvenation back into your face and to your skin.”

Toxin Injections: More Than Just Botox

While Botox is the most well-known toxin injection, there are other brands available, all of which offer similar results. “We can do toxin injections, which most people know by the term Botox, but there are different brands that we offer here as well,” says Hill.

Toxin injections are not limited to reducing wrinkles; they can also be used to address other health concerns. Hill explains that these injections can be used to treat TMJ disorder or jaw clenching, providing relief from painful symptoms. Furthermore, she highlights an unexpected benefit for Floridians: “You can get toxin injections in your armpits, which actually, in Florida, would be a great thing because it stops sweating.” For those suffering from hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating, toxin injections can provide relief and improved quality of life.

My name is Jamie Hill and I’m with Politis Plastic Surgery.
Patients that want to improve their aesthetics but maybe don’t want to go under anesthesia for it.
We can do different types of injectables right here in the office. We can do fillers, biostimulators.
We can do toxin injections which most people know by the term Botox but there are different brands that we offer here as well.
Those are minimally invasive. You’re here for maybe 20-30 minutes. We’re able to do those injections. With filler, we can do what we call liquid rhinoplasty where we can do modifications to the nose if you have a little hump that you want to smooth out.
It’s all about light and shadows with the face and so if we can change the way light hits your face, it’s going to look different and so we definitely use those fillers in that way if you want to build up your jaw, if you want to build up your cheekbones.
As women and men, as we age, we hollow out so we lose some of that youthfulness so those are good ways to give some rejuvenation back into your face and to your skin.
We can also use toxin injections to treat people that have TMJ disorder or people that find they clench their jaws a lot.
You can do it here in the jaw and it actually loosens that up so that you can move. It can be used to treat patients that have hyperhidrosis which is excessive sweating. You can get toxin injections in your armpits which actually in Florida would be a great thing because it stops sweating.
Really a nice little adjunct that you can see here. Thank you.
