MEDICAL NAME: BLEPHAROPLASTY

EYELID LIFT

DR. EFFIE POLITIS

TAMPA, FL

WHAT IS AN EYELID LIFT

An Eyelid Lift, or Blepharoplasty, is an in-office procedure that eliminates sagging skin folds, excess fatty deposits, and puffiness that all create a heavy, baggy eye. The final result is a more relaxed, refreshed, and youthful appearance.

THE WHAT

ARE YOU A CANDIDATE?

Although we typically see patients 35 years and older for this procedure, age is not a determining factor for an Eyelid Lift. If you inherited droopy or baggy eyelids that impair vision, than this procedure is perfect for you.

THE HOW

HOW IT'S DONE:

An Eyelid Lift works to rejuvenate the upper and lower eyelids by removing any excess skin and fat and repositioning the remaining skin. Dr. Politis starts by measuring and marking the area of skin on the eyelid that is to be removed. She then makes her incisions along the lines, removes the excess skin and stitches up the remaining skin.

RESULTS, RECOVERY, FREQUENCY

The recovery for an Eyelid Lift is 10-14 days. You can expect a long-term fix with results that last 5-7 years.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

You may experience temporary soreness and numbness of your eyelids.

Maximum discomfort will occur the first few days.

You will have bruising and swelling around your eyes. The majority of bruising and swelling will subside in 1-2 weeks.

You will not see you final result for 3-6 months.

You may experience dry eye symptoms following your operation. This typically resolves in 4-6 weeks.

You may feel tired for several weeks or months.
